Be Your Child's #1 Supporter!

Parents and guardians are some of our most important team members. Without your support, our students would not achieve the levels of success that they do every day. We encourage our parents and guardians to bookmark this page and visit often to stay updated on latest news and events.

Attendance Policy

Tardy:
A student is tardy if not in his/her assigned chair in the classroom at the start of class. A student who is tardy to class in excess of 15 minutes will be charged with an unexcused absence for that period. Disciplinary consequences will apply.

Excused Absence:
All excused absences require a parent phone call to the Attendance Office the day of the absence. Examples of excused absences include illness with medical documentation, court date with documentation or family bereavement.
Unexcused Absence:
An absence is unexcused for any reason other than for school-sponsored activities, excused absences, and truancies. Examples of unexcused absences include missing the bus or dress code violation.

Truancy:
A student is truant when his/her absence has not been approved by the school and the parent prior to or at the time of the absence. Examples of truancies include being absent from class without permission or becoming ill and staying I the restroom instead of reporting to the nurses’ office. Disciplinary consequences will apply.

Please use the following email address when reporting missed attendance, tardiness or absence for your child: attendance@moultonhallmethodist.org.

Talk To Your Child About School

  • Show enthusiasm about school and homework.
  • Set realistic goals for your child, and then focus on one at a time.
  • Provide a quiet place where homework can be completed.
  • Help your child complete homework. Remember, NEVER do your child’s homework!
  • Communicate regularly with your child’s teacher.
  • Expect and praise genuine progress and effort.
  • Focus on your child’s strengths in school.
  • Build connections between what is taught at school and what your child already knows.
  • Monitor your child’s television viewing and computer use.
  • Encourage reading and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • Help your child become organized: break down assignments into smaller, more manageable parts.
  • Set out needed items (clothes, homework, permission slips, etc.) the night before to avoid last-minute rushing in the morning.
